An enigma of the internet. iamamiwhoami is a mysterious music project that began on YouTube in 2009. Videos have been uploaded to YouTube every couple of weeks. Each clip features a woman singing but her identity was unknown. This is the first video I saw of iamamiwhoami that got me totally hooked. All of the videos are equally as eerie/haunting as this one:
Crazy right? The titles of the videos have a series of numbers/letters and an associated animal. In order, the clips uploaded to YouTube with titles and associated animal are:
- "Prelude 699130082.451322-5.4.21.3.1.20.9.15.14.1.12" ("goat")
- "9.1.13.669321018" ("owl")
- "9.20.19.13.5.723378" ("whale")
- "13.1.14.4.18.1.7.15.18.1.1110" ("bee")
- "15.6.6.9.3.9.14.1.18.21.13.56155" ("llama")
- "23.5.12.3.15.13.5-8.15.13.5.3383" ("monkey")
- "b"
- "o"
- "u-1"
- "u-2"
- "n"
- "t"
- "y"
The most recent video (y) was uploaded on August 4th. As you can see, it completes a string of videos whose titles spell the word "bounty". The website "Iambounty.com" shows the following clue:
It turns out that someone did some research and found that the person who registered the domain for Iambounty.com was Jonna Lee, a Swedish singer/songwriter who was one of the suspects of being the woman in the video. So we now know who the woman in the videos is, but there are still a lot of unknowns with this project, such as who is writing/producing/directing these videos and who the dude in the videos is. I look forward to follow and finding out more.
