The "shampoo effect" takes place when you drink a small amount of alcohol the day after a night of binging and begin to feel sauced. Think about it, "lather, rinse and repeat". That second time you wash your hair it only takes a dime-sized serving of shampoo to get lathered again. The most common use of the term refers to drinking (although when I heard about it through the grapevine and tried to explain it to other friends, they looked at me like I had been dropped on my head as a child). For more information see Urban Dictionary: shampoo effect.

Set GPS to avoid highways
I was about to drive home from work in PA when I decided that I was too tired to stare at a highway for 2 hours. I told the ornery British woman in my GPS to avoid all highways. This is what I found. It was nice to discover the existence of Mosquito Creek Lake, especially since it's only an hour and 15 from my apartment. If you have a GPS I highly recommend avoiding a highway here and there.
