True Halloween Horror Story

 

This is a mug shot of child killer Mary Bell.

“Bell’s mother Betty Bell (born McCrickett) was a prostitute. Independent accounts from family members suggest strongly that Betty had attempted to kill Mary and make her death look accidental more than once during the first few years of her life. Mary herself says she was subject to repeated sexual abuse, her mother forcing her from the age of four to engage in sex acts with men.”
“On 25 May 1968, the day before her 11th birthday, Mary Flora Bell strangled three-year-old Martin Brown. She was believed to have committed this crime alone. Between that time and the second killing, she and her friend Norma Joyce Bell (no relation), age thirteen, broke into and vandalised a nursery in Scotswood, leaving notes that claimed responsibility for the Brown killing. The Newcastle police dismissed this incident as a ‘prank’.
On 31 July 1968, the two took part in the death, again by strangulation, of three-year-old Brian Howe. Police reports concluded that Mary Bell had gone back after killing him to carve an “N” into his stomach with a razor; this was then changed using the same razor but with a different hand to an “M”. Mary Bell also used a pair of scissors to cut off bits of Brian Howe’s hair and to mutilate his genitals. As the girls were so young and their testimonies contradicted each other, what happened has never been entirely clear. Martin Brown’s death was initially ruled an accident as there was no evidence of foul play. Eventually, his death was linked with Brian Howe’s killing and in August, the two girls were charged with two counts of manslaughter.”

Ok, I'll Admit, Whales Are Scary

This is a dude next to a Blue Whale's skull. Yeah. So my girlfriend has been telling me since we met that she is terrified of whales. I have always laughed at her fear and tried to explain that the only ones that are scary are the ones that would attack your boat, drag you under, or eat you. When I saw this picture, I changed my mind. Imagine swimming along the surface of the water, looking down, and seeing this thing that has chin hairs the size of your wiener swimming towards you. Uh, count me out. I don't care if that thing is just trying to get a good look at me, who knows what the hell it's gonna do. This guy agrees with me. So, Lauren, you win. Whales, no matter what kind, are pants-shitting scary.

Well I guess that's one way to handle getting your instruments stolen.

I probably would've quit the band and sold my body for drugs

until I found the guy who stole my drums for drugs...

and then probably do drugs with him.

Requiem for a Dream

Requiem for a Dream is an incredible movie. Darren Aranofsky (director) said:

"Requiem for a Dream is not about heroin or about drugs… The Harry-Tyrone-Marion story is a very traditional heroin story. But putting it side by side with the Sara story, we suddenly say, 'Oh, my God, what is a drug?' The idea that the same inner monologue goes through a person's head when they're trying to quit drugs, as with cigarettes, as when they're trying to not eat food so they can lose 20 pounds, was really fascinating to me. I thought it was an idea that we hadn't seen on film and I wanted to bring it up on the screen."
